Because of the impending winter storm, Bishop Mark Eckman has granted a dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass this weekend. Please do not try to come to Mass if the road conditions are treacherous.
In the Shrines of Pittsburgh, all of the scheduled Masses will take place at the normal times this weekend, in order that we may fulfill the intentions requested for each Mass. However, we encourage you to attend Mass on Saturday evening and not venture out on Sunday morning when the conditions are supposed to be hazardous. If you are not able to make it to Mass this weekend, consider some other spiritual practice such as reading the Scripture readings for Sunday or praying the rosary as a way to keep the Lord's day holy.
Outside of the Mass times, the Shrine churches will be closed on Sunday, January 25 and Monday, January 26. 8:30 a.m. Mass at Saint Anthony Chapel on Monday, January 26 will be celebrate as normal. The parish offices will be closed on Monday, January 26. We hope to return to normal operations on Tuesday, January 27.
Please be assured of our prayers for warmth and safety during this winter storm. And please pray for those who must be out and about in this dangerous weather. May God bless us all!
